Titel: Wo Drachen sind (Reihe, Die Chroniken der Imaginarium Geographica)
Beschreibung: Ein rätselhafter Mord bringt in einer düsteren Nacht während des 1. Weltkriegs in London drei junge Männer zusammen: John, Jack und Charles. Ein seltsamer Fremder namens Bert eröffnet ihnen, sie seien von nun an die Erben und neuen Hüter der Imaginarium Geographica, eines Atlas’ all der Länder, die in Mythen, Legenden und fantastischen Geschichten je beschrieben wurden. An Bord des »Indigo-Drachen«, eines lebenden Drachenschiffs, nimmt Bert sie mit in eine nie geahnte andere Welt – ins Archipel der Träume.
Aber zerstörerische Mächte bedrohen das Schicksal des Archipels. Gemeinsam müssen John, Jack, Charles und Bert Gefahren bestehen, die sie an die Grenzen ihrer Kräfte bringen – aber auch zu den Geschichtenerzählern reifen lassen, als die man sie später kennen wird: J.R.R. Tolkien, C.S. Lewis, Charles Williams und H.G. Wells.
Meine Beurteilung: Ein absoluter Geheimtipp!! Ist in Buchläden fast nicht mehr zu kriegen und kennt fast niemand - leider. Die Geschichte ist interessant, Fantasy, und ziemlich verrückt. Gerade wenn man sich ein wenig mit Mythen und Legenden auskennt, also wirklich nur die bekanntesten kennt, dann ist das sehr lustig, weil man immer wieder auf Personen trifft, die von woanders schon bekannt sind. Das es sich um uns bekannte Schriftsteller handelt, wird erst ganz am Ende klar, macht das Buch aber nochmal besser. Gut geschrieben, sympathische Personen und ein gutes Buch. Es gibt auch einen zweiten Teil im Deutschen. Da es ein englischsprachiger Autor ist gibt es da auch schon wesentlich mehr, die aber höchstwahrscheinlich nicht übersetzt werden. Das ist kein Problem, der erste ist in sich abgeschlossen und benötigt erst mal keine Fortsetzung. Wollt ihr danach weiterlesen, solltet ihr auch aber überlegen, ob es ein Problem ist auf englisch zu lesen.
Fazit: Lesenswerter Roman der auch nicht der heutigen Fantasy bestehend aus Vampiren, Engeln und ähnlichem entspricht. Hat viel Magie in sich, sympathische und sehr lustige Charaktere und ein guter Schreibstil. Empfehle ich jedem der Fantasy nicht völlig verabscheut.

My Opinion: The Story is interesting, fantasy, and kind of really crazy. Especially if you like Myths or legends or just know the most famous, it is a really funny and great book, because you often meet some guys you knwo from somewher else. That the main characters are famous storytellers is unknown until the end of the book, but makes it even better. The writing style ist good, the persons are sympathic and a good book. There are six books in english, which is much more than in german (only two). If you don't want to read so many books, just read the first it's closed in itself.
All in All: A Novel you should read, which isn't the fantasy than normal today with angels, vampires, etc. There's a lot of magic in it, likeable characters and good spelling style. A book for everybody, who doesn't hate fantasy at all.
