The Sweetness of Forgetting

The Sweetness of Forgetting
Kristin Harmel

Description: The North Star Bakery has been in Hope's family for generations, the secret recipes passed down from mother to daughter. But at thirty-six and recently divorced, with rebellious daughter Annie and elderly grandmother Rose to care for, Hope is less than enthusiastic about carrying on the family legacy. When the bakery runs into financial trouble and Rose takes a turn for the worse, Hope's delicate balancing act is in danger of crumbling entirely.
Then Rose reveals a shocking truth about her past and everything Hope thought she knew about her family and the bakery is turned upside down. At her grandmother's request, Hope travels to Paris, armed only with a mysterious list of names. What she uncovers there could be the key to saving the bakery and the fulfilment of a star-crossed romance, seventy years in the making.

My Opinion: "As long as there are stars at the sky Im going to love you" - At the first moment this sounds like a sentimental, kind of brummagem lovestory. But this doesn't describe the book at all!! Kristin Harmel crate a sad, drastic past in a sickly sweet story about family, love and saolidarity. The novel is smart and brave, speaks about love, about losing and finding, about hope and believes. The story fascinates everybody, draw everone deep inside and especially at the last hundred sides everyone is captured.
Rose and Hope, as well as Alain and Annie are going more sympathic the whole time, one is captured and feels with them and wishes finally for a Happy End. The spelling style of the author is just incredible amazing. She describes everything wonderful pictorial, one can taste the ingredients of the sweets from the backery. She has an amzingly good diction, that makes everything sad more sad and everything wonderful more wonderful.
A great role in the novel plays the refurbishment of the happenings in France around 1940. It touches one a lot, when the plot is about Rose's past, when Hope meets people in Paris, who lost their whole family and still have hope. Furthermore she shows atmospheres, anticiptions and hoper of people in a special way. As consequence I had to cry often.
A lot of times the story has surprising turns, but attentive readers can see later happenings or their adumbrations early.
Kristin Harme balances out the mixture of sad history and wonderful lovestory, that goes over all times and decades aeay. As consequence the reader doe not have to be afraid about the theme, becasue it is described realistic, but told with intuitation.

All in all: A profound, bittersweet, sad, wonderful love- and famiystory fo all that believe on true love and are ready to dream another time!!

My Life Next Door

 Title: My Life Next Door
Author: Huntley Fitzpatrick

Description: The Garretts are everything the Reeds are not. Loud, numerous, messy, affectionate. And every day from her balcony perch, seventeen-year-old Samantha Reed wishes she was one of them . . . until one summer evening, Jase Garrett climbs her terrace and changes everything. As the two fall fiercely in love, Jase's family makes Samantha one of their own. Then in an instant, the bottom drops out of her world and she is suddenly faced with an impossible decision. Which perfect family will save her? Or is it time she saved herself?
My Opinion: "My Life Next Door" is a happy, rippling novel fpr youth, which is perfect for summer. Both main characters, Jase and Samantha, are sympathic teens with logical and natrual feelings. They aren't happy the whole time, but have phases of beeing sorry and phases of being happy like every other teen. They are 3-D characters, with common problems and the feeling of first/true love.
Not being just a lovestory the novel tells about typical problems, from the fight with the best frined to the disregard of the parents. After getting some time to understand the situation and knwoing the persons, the reader hears about a surprsing problem. Samantha has to lern to make her own decisions - the reader goes to be part of this development.
One of the reasons for my decision to read the novel a second time immediatly are the deep ideas, which are behind the actions. Nothing in the book just happens. Instead everything has a reason and has consequences for the happenings later. The sub-plots are goood integrated into the story and the sub-characters are lively and good shown. In this way they can include other themes like drugs and alcohol by youth.
Extraordinary and another reason, why I liked the book that much are the Garrets. Jase's familiy. Funny, bracing, fascinating, extraordinary - there is a lot more. All the time I jsut wished Samantha would go back to them or to Jase. What she's doing - looking inside of there life - is the same thing the reader is doing. A lot of times I wished I would knwo the family in real life.
All in all: A wonderful book, that makes a good mood. It makes it possible for the reader to fall into another worl and to forget everything around you!

Legend

Title: Legend
Author: Marie Lu

Description: A world of elemination. A feeling of revenge, that are feed by wrong accusations. And hate, that is oposite by a  boundless love!!! Thisis the story of Day and Jund. Seperated they are acrimionous oponents, but together they are a legend!
The big wish for revenge let June finds the lane of Day. She, trained to find and kill opponents of the government, finds a way to make him trust her.  But Day, the most wanted criminal of the republic, proves himself as loyal and selfless - provoke by a incredibly big sense of justice. June starts to see the world through his eyes. Is Day really the killer of June's brother? Is it true, what all people are telling her. Day is a poor guy, which the government wanted to bring in a murderous working place. He could run away and has to live on the streets scince then. Nobody knows where he lives. June, in contrast, is the wonder child of the republic, the only one that gets the whole 1500 points in the great test. Her brother Metias, who was the only one she had after the car accident of her parents. dies and she thinks Day's the murder.
Nearly to late June realices that she's a paw in a game of a perfidious and traitorisly plan.
My opinion: Legend is the first novel of the legend triology. The chapters are telled by June and Day by turns. I really liked this, because it makes it possible to understand both, June and Day. It also helps, to see both sides of the republic and shows the diffrences between both worlds.
The charcters are both really intersting and great! They are 3-D, lovely and sympathic. Both have a background story, so that they are interesting and not so simple, but one can understand their actions really good and it's intersting to watch their developments and their relationship.
The book isn't just a lovestory about a guy and a girl. It is a background part of the story, but the most important story line is about the republic and their bad intrigues. The book is about a government that isn't fair to the citicens and people who have to learn that the world isn't just how they see it.
The dystopy takes place in a world, where the USA doesn't excist anymore, but are divided by a big flood. Now, there is the republic America and the colonies, which fight against each other in a all destroing war. You understand how the social and political sytem works, btu aren't bored by the facts. They are implied into the happenings or memories of the persons.
The whole book is really exciting and after finishing reading you can be happy that the second part has been released, because waiting to knwo what heppens next is really annoying. The spelling style is youthful, exciting and fluently. The book is fascinating and you can't stop reading.
All in all: Legend is a great book and a wonderful first part of a dytopic triology with great and incredibly lovely charcters.

Finding Sky

Title : Finding Sky
Author: Joss Stirling

Description: "You have half our gifts, I have the other" ...... Sky has a secret past. Having buried the truth of her traumatic childhood deep inside, she's something of a mystery, even to herself. Sstarting a new school, she catches her first glipse of Zed. He stalks the corridors, a god-like creatue among mortals. Sky is dumbfounded when he seems drawn to her, but there's more to Zed - and to Sky - than she realizes.
My opinion: A fantasy novel about love, with a handsome, wonderful guy, a look in other worlds and a crime - what do you need more? "Finding Sky" needed around ten seconds to become one of my favourite books. Main charcters you love, you even wish to be, a great story and a spelling style, that makes it possible to read fluently and fast. Sure, its kind of a typical love-story - amazing boy, girl which thinks she would never be cool or pretty enough for such a guy. But then there's the supernatural-part of the story. Also it doesn't really matter, if the structure is not completly new. The Benedict family, the detailed description of Sky's thought and feelings create a wonderful, ful of mystiums but adorable and funny atmosphere. A lot of times you smile, you laugh with them or wish you could read faster, for knowing what happens next earlier. The idea of finding a soulmate - the one person who's there for you, ever, and that fits perfectly to you -  is incredable and a wish, most people have somewhere inside of them. "Finding Sky" is a brilliant book, really unique and -thanks a lot Joss Stirling- there are second and third book too. Hopefully there coming more, because after meeting these charcters, you want to spend more time with them.
All in all: One of the greatest books I've ever read full of paranomal romance. BUY IT!!!!

Die Jäger der Nacht/The Hunt

Die Jäger der Nacht
Titel: Die Jäger der Nacht
Autor: Andy Fukuda

Title: The Hunt
Author: Andy Fukuda

Description:  Gene is different from everyone else around him. He is a human, and he knows the rules.  Keep the truth a secret.  It’s the only way to stay alive in a world of night—a world where humans are considered a delicacy and hunted for their blood. His world is the world of creatures, which don't sewat, don't feel cold and never sleep, but kill people like Gene. When he’s chosen for a once in a lifetime opportunity to hunt the last remaining humans, Gene’s carefully constructed life begins to crumble around him.  He’s thrust into the path of a girl who makes him feel things he never thought possible—and into a ruthless pack of hunters whose suspicions about his true nature are growing. Now that Gene has finally found something worth fighting for, his need to survive is stronger than ever—but is it worth the cost of his humanity?
My opinion:  "The Hunt" is a mixture from vampirenovel and a book from the distopygenre. The basic idea, in which vampires aren't good -for a change- , is really good. The characters aren't stereotype. The very thought of Vampires as risk potential gives great possiblities for the following books, because they love blood, are wild and very cruel. The human character shows a autenthic action in this world, in which they nearly doen't excist. The fight to life is realistic and without losing hope. Especially Gene is sympathic and a main charcacter, one can understand. I didn't really like Ashley June, caused by her egoisitc behaviour and the way everybody look at her wasn't understandable for me. At the beginng The book take a while, but after a short time ist's going better and is exciting. The way of writing is fluently and nice. One is finished really fast. Especially the links to the Twilightbooks were nice, but it's not necessary to know them , for reading the book. The often described analogy to the Panem-books wasn't big, but that can change in the following parts.
All in all: A good, but not specail book, which is good for vampirefans, who want to read sth new.

Percy Jackson

Titel: Percy Jackson Diebe im Olymp
Autor: Rick Riordian

Title:  Percy Jackson The Lightning Thief
Author: Rick Riordian

Description: After getting expelled from yet another school for yet another clash with mythological monsters only he can see, twelve-year-old Percy Jackson is taken to Camp Half-Blood, where he finally learns the truth about his unique abilities: He is a demigod, half human, half immortal. Even more stunning: His father is the Greek god Poseidon, ruler of the sea, making Percy one of the most powerful demigods alive. There's little time to process this news. All too soon, a cryptic prophecy from the Oracle sends Percy on his first quest, a mission to the Underworld to prevent a war among the gods of Olympus.
My Opinion: The young hero Percy is with his loyalitiy, sarcasm and courage a really sympathic person. Really conclusive is the idea the mysthical perosns would live in the real worl. Here there aren't foreigners, instead they are in the same time feeling. The heading of each chapter is incredible funy and that'a also true for the whole book. It's a mixture of a youth-fantasy book ans an adventure story, but has so much humor and fuuny meetings that you can't stop smiling while you're reading. Percy is a normal modern teenager , fpor example he copies his tom sawyer essay form the internet. It is really interesting to look what an athor do wiht the anoying adults. Normaly thechidlren just loose their parnets, but here it is done much better and diffrent. The book is full of innovativa nf funny ideas and is simple and fast to read.
All in all: A fantastic Fantasy-novel.... sepecially great for people who like inventiv and funny adventure stories with a mythological touch!

Die Tudor-Verschwörung/The Tudor Secret

Titel: Die Tudor-Verschwörung
Autor: Christoph W. Gortner

Beschreibung: England 1553.

Title: The Tudor Secret
Author: Christoph W. Gortner

Description:Summer 1553: A time of danger and deceit. Brendan Prescott, an orphan, is reared in the household of the powerful Dudley family. Brought to court, Prescott finds himself sent on an illicit mission to the king’s brilliant but enigmatic sister, Princess Elizabeth. But Brendan is soon compelled to work as a double agent by Elizabeth’s protector, William Cecil, who promises in exchange to help him unravel the secret of his own mysterious past....
My Opinion: "The Tudor Secret" follows the old concept oft a fictiv hero who is close to the big event, many real and some fiktiv persons in a story, which is near to the hitory, btu have some adaptions for ther dramatic parts. The whole story happens really fast, which is really awesome: Actually the whole 400 pages "just" tell something about the twelve days, where everxthing decide. Christopher W.Gortner makes the time around 1550 livinig again, caused by his simple and wonderful spelling style. The Tudor Secret is so excitng, that there weren't many times I could stopp reading
All in all:  A blustery part of english history and an exciting book to read!!

Die Chroniken von Narnia/The Chronicles of Narnia

Titel: Die Chroniken von Narnia
Autor: C.S. Lewis

Title: The Chronicles of Narnia
Author: C.S. Lewis

Description: (The King of Narnia Book 2) Lucy, Susan, Edmund and Peter go through a magical wardrobe into the country Narnia. There it is all the time winter, but never Christmas, because the white witch Jadis is the queen of the country. But with true friends and the lion Aslan they challenge the witch. And that's the beginning of a big adventure...
My Opinion: (to the whole Chronicles) The Chronicles of Narnia by C.S. Lewis are "the" Classics of the children and youthliterature. The book are simple and uncomplicated to read - also for adults in my opinion - exciting literature and for fantasyfans something to read. It is really nice, that you here start with the first book and see how the charcters develop. For example the children you know really good at the end. You understand and imagine in a good way the magical and fantastic Narnia with his flora and fauna and you get a perfect and pictorgraphic overview over the whole story. Summing up I only can say something  positiv about the product, from the looking to the converting of the box, and also the content of the books, which are really exciting and good written. By the way the reader should decide her/hisself if he/she wants to read the books in the oder of the box or in the order C.S. Lewis wrote them.
All in all: A fantastic story, which is a have-to-read for everybody whole loves books, and wich is in this box perfect for reading and have a wonderful conditing.

Die Penderwicks/The Penderwicks

Titel: Die Penderwicks
Autor: Jeanne Birdsall

Title: The Penderwicks
Author: Jeanne Birdsall

Description: It never would have happened at all if the four Penderwick daughters and their father hadn't gotten a new cottage rental for their summer vacation. Arriving at heavenly Arundel, the headstrong Penderwick Skye proceeds to immediately discover and knock unconscious their new landlady's son, Jeffrey. After some apologies all is forgiven and Jeffrey meets each girl. There's twelve-year-old Rosalind who is a kind of mother figure to her sisters. Eleven-year-old Skye is deeply intelligent and has a temper that in any other book would make her a redhead. Ten year old Jane is the dreamy romantic Penderwick, prone to writing overindulgent adventure tales. Finally, there's four-year-old Batty, clad permanently in detachable butterfly wings and accompanied by the family dog, Hound. With Jeffrey by their side the girls must deal with Rosalind's crush, Sky's capacity for messing up, Jane's publication fantasies, and Batty's shyness. Top it all off with Jeffrey's mother, Mrs. Tipton, believing that her son should be sent to a military academy ASAP and you've got a fine frolicksome summer adventure to be read for years and years to come.
My Opinion: A lacing of friendship, family, first love, responsibility, tragic and comedy and the summerbook is perfect! The characters are all detailed, interesting and lovely shown. The sisters are all diffrent, so you find really fast your favourite character, doesn't matter if its the responsible Rosalind, the flawy Skye, the fantasy-able Jane or the sweet Jane. The dead mother of the girls and the situation of the harmonic and lovely family touch you and takes a point of seriusness into the story. Additional Jeanne Birdsall takes in an uncomlicating way the right tone.
All in all: "The Penderwicks" is a gleeful, exciting story around four girls and their alone father. Has a lot of humor, fantastic dialogues and some dramatical szenes - recommended until ten

Das Medici-Siegel/The Medici Seal

Titel: Das Medici-Siegel
Autor: Theresa Breslin

Kräftige Hände ziehen ihn an Land.

 Title: The Medici Seal
Author: Theresa Breslin

Description: The place is Romagna, Italy 1502. Fleeing from the murderous brigand Sandino, Matteo - a young boy - is saved from drowning by the companions of Leonardo Da Vinci. From this moment on, Matteo is at the Maestro's side as he carries out his work, which ranges from the painting of magnificent frescos to intricate dissection of the human body. But Leonardo is employed by Cesare Borgia, head of one of Italy's leading families. Cruel and ruthless, the Borgia punishes without mercy those who oppose him or who threaten him in any way. And as Da Vinci and Matteo travel across Italy on the Borgia's business, murder, deceit and revenge follow in their trail. For Matteo carries with him a secret - a secret that both the Borgia and Medici families would kill to obtain. A life-changing secret that must, finally, come to light for all to see...
My opinion. A really good book with histiorcal background. To read the book you need a few information before, but the most is explained by the way. You meet many hostirically important persons, here I just mention Leonardo da Vinci, Cesare Borgia and Machiavelli, and it takes you deeper and deeper into the story and the time. The characters are shown in a lovly way and because they are detailled you have a good picture of them and what happen is simple to understand. You live, laugh and feel bad with them. The beginning is fast, so you don't have a too long introducing part. the book is interesting, exciting and a high level, also it has a good spelling style, but the end is a little bit too much happy end. The mixture of ficive and historical actions is perfect.
All in all: For everybody who looks for a present for reading-loving or reading-hating kids or who just want to read a diffrent book for adults, is completly rightr with that book. "The Medici Seal" is good for both of them.
All in all:

Rubinrot/Ruby Red

Titel: Rubinrot
Autor:Kerstin Gier

Fazit: Ein bezauberndes Buch!

Title: Ruby Red
author: Kerstin Gier

Description:  Charlotte is the chosen child of Gwendolyn's family, because she got the gene for time travelling. She got it, doen't she? That isn't sure anymore becuase suddenly Gwen is the one who feels dizzy, which Charlotte should have. Then everybody realize that Charlottta learnt a lot the last years for nothing there's a lot of anger and confusion. Gewndolyn's whole life changes over nigh, because suddenly she travels in time and meets her grandparents. And that's not for fun, because she have an excercise, that she should do with the arrogant Gideon. He is arrogant, isn't he? Well, he have really wonderful eyes, but although he is an idiot. Somehow. Sometimes...
My Opinion: The story of Gwen, the time travelling gene, the twelve jewels and the two bad time travellers is how new wind in the fantasy literature. As reaser you see yourself in the story a lot of times and you have to laugh often. The humor is really an big part of the story and makes an important part of the atmosphere. What I liked also is the speed. The story happens fast without fallng to much in detalis, even if the story is complex. At the end it also is really exciting, so you don't want szop reading. The characters are realistic, and it'*s simple to identify with them. But there's also a lot of space for them to envelop. Because it's written from Gewn's point of view, you don't know who's good and who's bad and why they act like they do.
All in all: A charming book!! A lot of little secrets, which are around a big one, that are possible to find for the reader.

Tote Mädchen lügen nicht/Thirteen Reasons Why

Titel: Tote Mäschen lügen nicht
Autor: Jay Asher

Title: Thirteen Reasons Why
Author: Jay Asher

Description: Clay Jensen returns home from school to find a strange package with his name on it lying on his porch. Inside he discovers several cassette tapes recorded by Hannah Baker - his classmate and crush - who committed suicide two weeks earlier. Hannah's voice tells him that there are thirteen reasons why she decided to end her life. Clay is one of them. If he listens, he'll find out why. Clay spends the night crisscrossing his town with Hannah as his guide. He becomes a firsthand witness to Hannah's pain, and learns the truth about himself-a truth he never wanted to face.
My opinion: A really good book with a serious topic. Jay Asher takes the reader in the first moment. Because you only know the same than Clay,  you're all the time asking yourself what's happening naxt and wht'a Clays role and are going to hate every interruption. Clay and Hannah seem to be sympathic, normal Teenager and becuase the author changes between Hannah's report and Clays thoughts, the book is good for boys and girls. The story is great, also the spelling style. I would advise it to twelve and older people, also grown-ups, but the topic is critical and try to take the reader to think about it. If the reasons for hannahs dead are realistic is diffrent in the opinions.
All in all: An exciting, but also serious book with sympathic main characters.

Der Liebellensee/The Dragonfly Pool

Titel: Der Libellensee oder Wie man einen Prinzen rettet
Autor: Eva Ibbotson

Title: The Dragonfly Pool:
Author: Eva Ibbotson

Description: Tally, 11, attends Delderton, a progressive boarding school in the Devon countryside, and though she doesn't want to leave her loving father, London in 1939 is not very safe. As it turns out, she thrives there, good-naturedly setting herself to solving the problems of students and staff alike. When Bergania, whose king has refused to let Hitler's armies march through his (fictional) country, announces an international children's folk-dancing festival, Tally convinces her school to attend. During their visit, the king is assassinated, and she and the Delderton troupe rescue 12-year-old Prince Karil and smuggle him to England. But that's just the beginning of the adventure....
My Opinion: The story of the elven-years-old Tally is heart-warming, partly dramatic, partly soppy and in some passages just wonderful to read. The pleading of the in the time of writing 83-yeras-old author for humanity, fo a democratic and opne schoolsystem and the importance of own wishes and goals as the things, that should decide the future of every person  is great to read. "The Dragonfly Pool" is a awesome story about diffrences and friendship, boxed in an adventure, which is about nothing or all - and a story avout the questions if dreams are going to be true. The persons are wonderful, bergania semms to be realistic and extraordinary, the spelling style is fantastic and the story let you believe in dremas and friendship. A good book for boys and girls becuase it is told from Karils and from Tallys perspective.
All in all: A story about courage and decisiveness, about friendship and children, who take their life in their own hand, which I advise to everybody.

Krähenmädchen (Die Elfen von Dreamdark)/Blackbringer (Dreamdark)

Autor: Laini Taylor

Meine Meinung: Ein fantastisches Buch!

Author: Laini Taylor
Title: Blackbringer (Dreamdark)

Description:When the ancient evil of the Blackbringer rises to unmake the world, only one determined faerie stands in its way. However, Magpie Windwitch, granddaughter of the West Wind, is not like other faeries. While her kind live in seclusion deep in the forests of Dreamdark, she's devoted her life to tracking down and recapturing devils escaped from their ancient bottles, just as her hero, the legendary Bellatrix, did 25,000 years ago. With her faithful gang of crows, she travels the world fighting where others would choose to flee. But when a devil escapes from a bottle sealed by the ancient Djinn King himself- the creator of the world- she may be in over her head. How can a single faerie, even with the help of her friends, hope to defeat the impenetrable darkness of the Blackbringer?
My Opinion:  A fantastic book! Laini Taylor tells th story of a female hero and along the way she gives descriptions, explanations and retrospects without a break in the story line. The ehero, Magpie, has a amazing charisma, that is possible for the reader to see. Also the other characters are crazy (djinn), bizarre (faeries of dreamdark), amazing (rooks) or likeable (Talon). The story is new, the world of the fearies is wonderful and one wish it would be posible to visit their places. The author suport all of that with a fantastic spelling style and a great way of telling stories.
All in all: An adventure full of magic and a must-have for every friend of fantasy.

The Hundred-Year-Old Man who Climbed Out of the Window and Disappeared

Autor: Jonas Jonasson

Author: Jonas Jonasson
Title: The Hundred-Year-Old Man who Climbed Out of the Window and Disappeared

Description:It all starts on the one-hundredth birthday of Allan Karlsson. Sitting quietly in his room in an old people's home, he is waiting for the party he-never-wanted-anyway to begin. The mayor is going to be there. The press is going to be there. But, as it turns out, Allan is not...Slowly but surely Allan climbs out of his bedroom window, into the flowerbed (in his slippers) and makes his getaway. And so begins his picaresque and unlikely journey involving criminals, several murders, a suitcase full of cash, and incompetent police. As his escapades unfold, we learn something of Allan's earlier life in which - remarkably - he helped to make the atom bomb, became friends with American presidents, Russian tyrants, and Chinese leaders, and was a participant behind the scenes in many key events of the twentieth century.
My Opinion: The book is really really funny!!! It is the crazy story of a life mixed with the insurrection of a whole country, just because a man diappeard. Allan Karlsson is a really funny, but mostly friendly and calm person, who doesn't plan to make somebody angry. His meetings with the diffrent important men are described in a amusing way and show all the persons in the book as normal, or just a little bit crazy.  It is a book for all ages (six - hundred +) and a book, that you read in a few moments.
All in al: A book for everyone with a new crazy idea, that has inspired whole europe.

Der Tag der zuckersüßen Rache /Finding Cassie Crazy

Autor: Jaclyn Moriarity

Author: Jaclyn Moriarity
Title. Finding Cassie Crazy/The Year of Secret Assignments

Description: When Lydia, Emily, and Cassie are assigned pen pals among the thugs at Brookfield High, they respond in characteristic style:And their pen-pals? Sebastian is an artist, a black belt in Tae Kwan Do, and a major hottie. Charlie is utterly gullible, a car expert/occasional thief, and a really sweet guy. But Matthew is…well, he’s either a psychopath or a figment of Cassie’s imagination, neither of which is a good sign. And what starts out as a simple letter exchange leads to secret assignments, false alarms, lock picking, legal drama, mistaken identities, Dates with Girls, and all-out war between the schools . . . the biggest challenge Lydia, Cass, and Emily’s friendship has ever faced.
My Opinion: The book is really funny and good. It isn't a normal plot telling story, instead it is told wiht a mixture of many letters, diary entries or the like. Through that ther is a story, that you read from six diffrent point of views and because of that every reader finds a chracter, who is like himself/herself. Lyd, Em and Cass are very sympathic, also the three boys, and really human with there problems and fears. The whole book is amusing, doens't matter if we're talking about tricks of the main characters, citations of Em's parents for her or just the ideas, that grows because of the letter-friendships. The book is exciting, very agile and the reader get surprise with the main characters a lot of times, but sometimes a few things are forseeable. The spelling style is really good and the author success in enlacing reams of litle stories. In the moment, you think it is a lovestory, everything changes. It's a good book, also for boys, and for every age, if you like to read a book wich make you laugh.
All in all: A really good, extraordinary book, wich is much more profound, than you believe in the first moment.

Die Chroniken der Imaginarium Geographica/ The chronicles of the Imaginarium Geographica

Autor: James A. Owen

Tolkien, C.S. Lewis, Charles Williams und H.G. Wells.
Meine Beurteilung: Ein absoluter Geheimtipp!!

Author: James A. Owen
Title: The Chronicles of the Imaginarium Geographica Here, There Be Dragons

Description: An unusual murder brings together three strangers, John, Jack, and Charles, on a rainy night in London during the first World War. An eccentric little man called Bert tells them that they are now the caretakers of the Imaginarium Geographica — an atlas of all the lands that have ever existed in myth and legend, fable and fairy tale. These lands, Bert claims, can be traveled to in his ship the Indigo Dragon, one of only seven vessels that is able to cross the Frontier between worlds into the Archipelago of Dreams.
Pursued by strange and terrifying creatures, the companions flee London aboard the Dragonship. Traveling to the very realm of the imagination itself, they must learn to overcome their fears and trust in one another if they are to defeat the dark forces that threaten the destiny of two worlds. And in the process, they will share a great adventure filled with clues that lead readers to the surprise revelation of the legendary storytellers these men will one day become.
My Opinion: The Story is interesting, fantasy,  and kind of really crazy. Especially if you like Myths or legends or just know the most famous, it is a really funny and great book, because you often meet some guys you knwo from somewher else. That the main characters are famous storytellers is unknown until the end of the book, but makes it even better. The writing style ist good, the persons are sympathic and a good book. There are six books in english, which is much more than in german (only two). If you don't want to read so many books, just read the first it's closed in itself.
All in All: A Novel you should read, which isn't the fantasy than normal today with angels, vampires, etc. There's a lot of magic in it, likeable characters and good spelling style. A book for everybody, who doesn't hate fantasy at all.

Brandon Sanderson, Mistborn-Triologie

Autor: Brandon Sanderson

Author: Brandon Sanderson
title:Mistborn The Final Empire (Triology, the others are called The Well of AScension and The Hero of Ages)

Description: "The Sliver of Infinity, the Lord Ruler, is the locus of religious and temporal order in a world in which the skaa are slaves or worse. Half-skaa erstwhile thief Kelsior is the only person to survive and escape the Lord Ruler's most brutal prison, in which, however, he discovered he has the powers of the Mistborn, which are based on the internal "burning" of certain metals, all of which the Mistborn can use, while most others can burn only one. Now Kelsior plans his most daring raid ever, into the center of the palace to discover the secret of the Lord Ruler's power. Beforehand, his band finds the half-skaa orphan Vin in another thieving crew, where she's useful because she brings good luck. She is also Mistborn and, if she can master and learn to trust her powers, will enable Kelsior's crew to infiltrate the nobility and possibly overthrow the status quo.Intrigue, politics, and conspiracies mesh complexly in a world Sanderson realizes in satisfying depth and peoples with impressive characters. "Regina Schroeder
My Opinion: At First: The books are the best!!!!! The charcters are realistic, 3-D, sympathic and surprise you a lot of times. You can understand what and why the are doing it, you start to like Kelsier, Vin, Elant and all the others after a few moments. It's a fantasybook, but one, who is diffrent to others and what you really should read! There aren't the same fantasy-persons than normal (angel, vampires, etc). Instead Brandon Sanderson creates his one new world, which a completly new system of magic. The sytsem of allomantic power, and later ferrochemical and hämalurgic powers (i hope that they are called so in english) :). These systems are complicated, thought out and avowed. The story is exciting, changes the dircetion a lot of times the spelling style is absorbing and really good!! Only one bad point: Some things which are explained in the second and third part, make the first part worseafter the event. But READ IT!!!

All in all: READ IT!! Read every book by Brandon Sanderson, but start with these. Small hint: There is a Mistborn 4, wich happens 100 years later with new characters. Not that good than the first three, but also better than many books I read.
If you read it now, because of my blog, tell me if you liked it:)

Hey:)
